Hey guys. Today I will be sharing another family favorite recipe. It can seem complicated at first, but with simple fresh ingredients and no dry seasoning to measure out, you can get it done in no time. So, lets begin.

First you start off by adding 2 teaspoons of oil in a small pot. Then you add the minced garlic and ginger. Saute for 1 minute or 2. Add the soy sauce, water, and brown sugar. Let it boil for about 5 minutes till sauce becomes slightly thicker.

Next, slice the flank steak in horizontal thin slices (I bought pre cut steak pieces, and didn't like the way they were cut, next time I will cut it myself like I usually do). Toss with cornstarch. Heat about a tbsp of oil to wok and cook over medium high heat. Cook in small batches for about 2-3 minutes. Then set aside. It does not need to fully cook because it will finish cooking completely when mixed with the sauce.

Next, chop the broccoli into smaller pieces and toss into the wok. I like to do this after frying the meat so that it can grab some of the flavor, but doing it before is fine as well. You can sauté the broccoli, but my girls prefer very steamed broccoli, so I added about 1/4 cup of water and placed a lid over the wok. I tilted the lid so the steam can be released.

After broccoli is steamed toss the meat back into wok and add the sauce. Toss everything together. Cook until hot an bubbly. Stir in green onions (I didn't have any on hand {insert crying emoji}. Or you can just top your plate with them.

Serve over steamed rice. I like adding some Sriracha sauce in a dipping bowl on the side. And enjoy!
