We all know how difficult it can be to find a good pair of shoes for our kids. Our children often complain or whine about their uncomfortable shoes. It can be more difficult finding healthy kids shoes that are also stylish. From experience with different shoe brands throughout the years, I have rounded up my top picks for the best kids shoes.

It is important to find good healthy shoes for our children for healthy foot development. Let's not forget that our children's feet are constantly growing, so we need to be sure to optimize healthy development by choosing comfortable shoes. Poor fitting shoes can have lasting foot damage to our children's delicate and precious foot bones. It's important to make sure to measure your children's feet properly and buy them the correct size shoe. To large or too small both carry comfort and developmental issues.

It is a good idea to shop with shoe brands who care about the development children's feet and have size and comfort in mind. The current age of your child has significance in the best shoe style for their feet. Not to forget to mention, long lasting durable shoes also plays a significant role in shoe purchases. With all that being said, here are the best kids shoes with comfort, durability, and style in mind.

Bobux

Bobux shoes are approved by podiatrist! It is obvious this brand is passionate about healthy foot development. They were the first brand to create soft sole shoes for babies in 1991. The founders could not find comfortable shoes for their baby girl, so they created their own. They are New Zealand based, and truly care about style, comfort, health, craft, and the material used. They also make sure to use non toxic material made without harsh chemicals. That is why I have been purchasing from this brand for over 5 years! So many love them as well, Bobux ships to over 40 countries. There are different styles of shoes offered for different ages-babies, cruisers, first walkers, toddlers and preschoolers, and kids+.

Whether its running shoes or Mary Jane flats, Bobux has a wide range of styles that fit your needs all while keeping comfort and quality in mind. There is a sizing chart that helps you convert your child's shoe size or you can also follow their sizing guide and measure your child's feet at home. Bobux creates their shoes with enough growing space so that there is no need to size up.

We especially love their boots for the winter season, made with real merino wool. We also love their flats and sandals.

Here are the Bobux Xplorers made for cruisers and first time walkers. They offer Xplorers for all ages and stages of development. You can click on the photo to link you to Bobux products on Amazon, but I highly recommend heading to their website to explore all the products they have to offer!

Livie & Luca

This super jolly shoe brand created by two women (one is a Latina, the other was a school teacher), offers beautiful styles and bright colors all while keeping children's development in mind. These ladies truly care about nurturing children's body, mind, spirit, and strive to help children enjoy their energetic childhood with a good pair of durable stylish shoes.

Their shoes are handmade with velvety leather, bright colors, and bold designs. The brand partners with wellness experts to design shoes that support healthy feet. They also take durability serious, so that the shoes can have enough lifespan to be actually passed down to another child! You can really tell that this brand puts a lot of care into their products.

Plae

Created by two dads, one a tech guy the other a former Puma shoe designer. This brand is one of the best versatile shoes that is great for outdoor use, but also can also be stylish and used with casual dress wear. Plae shoes are great for exploring and it's no wonder kids like to choose these shoes over others when running out to play. They are easy to put on due to their velcro straps, and you can also purchase interchangeable tabs which allow children to personalize their shoes. The company founder worked with a podiatrist to design the shoe mold. The have a wide opening and removable insoles for a better fit, so they are a great option for wide feet.

Below are Plae's new outdoor shoe Mimo Sneaker that is great for water and outdoor play. The lower holes are covered to prevent debris. Check out their website for plenty more options!

We recently purchased our first pair of Plae shoes, because we needed outdoor shoes during our hikes. The girls love them because they are stylish, easy to put on, and no socks are required. They are also splash proof and can be wet if the girls stumble across a puddle. My daughters loved their comfort so much that they are their go to travel shoes as well. We used them during our recent trip to Florence, Venice (Below), and more recently during our trip to Sardinia where we needed to hike through wet caves.

Spring Court

The original tennis shoe created by a tennis player in 1936 and became the trendy stylish street shoe by 1960. Everyone loved wearing this very comfortable and fashionable shoe. Located in Paris, but this company ships all through Europe and USA.

A breathable shoe, with a sturdy rubber sole, and cotton canvas, this shoe is probably one of the best tennis shoes around for kids (and adults). Neutral colors and a classic style, these shoes are so aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The Spring Court shoe has a patented ventilated outsole as well as removable cotton insoles. They also carry leather styles, ones with shoe laces, and velcro straps!

We haven't purchased our Spring Court shoe, but my husband used to have a pair that he loved! We still plan to order our girls a pair this coming fall when the weather begins to cool down. These make great school shoes (insert heart eyes emoji)! I am in love with this shoe and can't wait to order soon.

There are some styles that are offered with organic cotton which I love. Below is one of those styles and the ones we plan to purchase soon.

Saltwater Sandals

These sandals were created in World War Two with old straps of weather, overtime everyone wanted a pair. They have very durable soles, and made from 100% leather which is coated with water resistant sealant. The soles also mold to the persons feet with continuous use, allowing for a more comfortable fit. The rust proof knuckles allow you to customize your fit for wider or more narrow feet.

It is a great summer sandal that is 100% water proof so your kids can enjoy splashing in the puddles or running in and out of the beach (no more cheap plastic flip flops). They are of course very stylish so they can be worn in dry conditions as well!

I love the quality of these sandals as well as the stylish look. We haven't personally purchased these, but these are definitely on the top of our list for whenever my girls (or I) need a new pair of sandals.

With a wide variety of colors and styles you can check out Amazon (click on photo below) or head over to their website as I like to recommend.

Keen

Keen shoe boots are a great option for hiking. They come with extremely durable support and are environmentally friendly. They are made with less harsh chemicals to support the environment as well as a better health option for your children.

We haven't purchased these because I don't think my daughters would use them much, but for anyone looking for a great hiking boot or sandal, this is probably the best option!

Below is a hiking boot option, but you can find a wide variety of different type of shoe styles on their website or you can click on the image below to shop on Amazon.

Overall I truly feel that these brands are the best high quality options for kids. The shoes are created mindfully for kids developing feet and each brand has its unique style of shoe that fits the occasion best.
