Oil Cleansing Method
Hi everyone. Today I will be talking about how I cleanse my skin and what oil cleansing is all about. I know some of you are familiar with it and some of you may have never heard of it. I would like to share this form of skincare so that you can give it a try and see if it works for you.
What is oil cleansing?
Oil cleansing is using high quality oils to gently cleanse your skin. The idea of cleansing your skin with oils sounds a little crazy, but cleaning your skin with the right oils actually proves to nourish and moisturize your skin so much better than using soaps.
We all know the rule water and oil don’t mix. Well oil and oil do. Massaging your face with oils will help dissolve the impurities and old oils that have built up and have became stuck in your pores. The steam from a hot washcloth over your face will help open your pores and allow for old oil to be easily removed. The quality oils help pull out dirty oil and bacteria from your pores and replaces it with the fresh oils deriving from botanicals, vegetables and fruits. When consistently used the oils can help with acne, oily skin, and dry skin, because the nourishing oils leave your skin balanced and moisturized properly. When your skin is properly balanced your skin stops over producing oil.
Using soaps or strong chemicals on your face can dry out your skin and cause your pores to go into emergency mode overproducing oils, causing oily skin. The same thing can be the cause for people with dry skin because soaps and chemicals strip the natural oils, so nourishing oils can help balance everything out and help your skin feel perfectly moisturized.
Does the oil cleansing method work?
I’m a strong believer that health begins from the inside of the body it is important what you put on your skin, our largest organ. I previously had breakouts in my cheek areas when I was using soap to cleanse my face, and it was causing an imbalance on my skin. After testing oil cleansing for a month it totally worked for me! Immediately after changing my skincare routine I noticed a huge difference and every day I noticed the breakouts going away. After the first use my skin just felt so much cleaner. Every morning my face felt and looked healthier than ever before. I also asked several family members and friends how the new skincare routine was working for them and they also had amazing results. They noticed acne going away, their skin feeling and looking better, and more moisturized.
How To Clean Skin With Oil Cleansing Method?
- Add a large drop of oil onto dry skin in the shower or over sink and massage onto skin. Massage for 1-2 minutes. The oil removes makeup really well so no need to do that prior to oil cleansing.
- Place wash cloth under very warm running water and wring it out. Place cloth over face for about a minute. You can flip the cloth over and do it again. Use the wash cloth to remove any excess oil. There maybe a small layer of oil left behind, but that is okay.
- You can follow with your regular skincare routine. I like to spritz my face with a facial toner and then use face cream. An alternative is stopping after the oil cleansing and allow your skin to become adjusted to only oil cleansing. It will eventually be balanced without a need to moisturize with face cream.
Note: It can take some time for your skin to adjust to oil cleansing. There may be some breakouts or more oily skin during this time. This is a detox period and I don't recommend using any other harsh cleansers or soaps which may prolong the adjustment period.

Which product do I use?
I like to use my Jane and Juliet Organics Facial Oil. It includes a nice blend of a variety of great oils that work on all skin types. Including argan oil and jojoba oil which work amazing with helping to balance out your skin in the way you need it too. Rosehip oil is also added due to its amazing benefits like improving skin texture, and helping reduce acne scars. With its essential fatty acids and antioxidants it is important for cell and tissue regeneration on the skin. This Oil blend is also scented with grapefruit essential oil which is a good detoxification agent helping to get rid of toxins and pollutants in the environment that can build up in your skin and pores. Adding an extra cleansing experience.
