If you struggle with getting to bed early and would like to change that or if you're someone who is completely fine with being a night owl, then read on. Maybe you will learn a few new reasons how sleeping early can really benefit and change your life and see if it's a good choice for you.

We all know that getting 7-8 hours of sleep every night is recommended. Well, did you know that it is also very important to get those hours of sleep earlier in the night? Ranging between health benefits to a better quality of life, sleeping early and enough hours may be one of the best things you can do for yourself.

Sleep is the best meditation.

Lets get into some of the benefits of sleeping early.

More Energy

When you sleep early you are giving your body sufficient time to rest and recover from the long day. It is believed that at night is when our muscles grow, our helpful hormones are released, and tissue repair occurs. When you sleep late, you're probably still required to wake early, so your chances of getting a sufficient amount of sleep is not likely. Lack of sleep causes inflammation in the body and can result in a higher risk of emotional stress.

When you sleep early you are likely to wake up early and in result will wake up with a lot more energy opposed to feeling sluggish and exhausted. You will feel much more powerful and alive to take on the day ahead. Of course all your good energy from a good nights rest will also positively affect your family and those you care for.

Weight Control

Sleeping early tremendously helps you see better results in your fitness and health lifestyle. If you're putting a lot of effort towards working out, but not sleeping well then your results will not be as great or it could be the reason why you are not seeing the results you'd like to see. When you exercise your body needs time to recover, as mentioned above, at night is when your body grows muscles and rejuvenates from all the hard physical work of the day.

Sleeping late usually means eating late and binging on unhealthy meals at midnight. When you eat late you don't allow your body to rest and recover because your body is working hard to break down the sugars and calories. The calories end up being stored as fat because you are not going to burn off the energy from food, you are going to sleep soon afterwards. It is very important to rest and recover when you are working on your fitness goals and controlling your weight so that you can see the best results.

Improves Productivity

Sleeping early will allow you to wake up feeling very well rested and happier. When you are feeling happy you are likely feeling positive towards your goals and projects. Whether it's that garage that needs be cleaned out or that workout you want to check off, you are more likely to get it down after a well rested night.

Plus wouldn't you want to get all your projects done early in the morning right after a good nights rest opposed to at the end of a long day when your body is most tired.

Skin Benefits

Not getting enough seep accelerates the aging process. Sleeping enough also gives our skin time to repair itself. It should be a part of your skincare routine! 😉

Better thinking and Memory improvement

If you often find that you constantly forget things here and there or loose your train of thought, you probably need more sleep! Hit the sheets early and wake up feeling bright and sharp.

Meditation

There's something powerful about sleeping early and waking up before everyone in the house. Being alone and appreciating the peace and quiet is a perfect time to do some meditation. 10 minutes is all you need. Spend time with yourself alone, express gratitude, start the day off on the right foot!

Success

Sleeping early can make you feel accomplished. You will have the energy, strength, and sharp thinking, to help you get started on your day and accomplish all your projects and goals. From personal experience I check off more tasks from my list when I wake up early to work opposed to what I can get done late at night, one reason being due to low energy.
