7 New Home must Haves
Welcome back to my blog!! It’s been a while, but I am so excited to be writing again!
In today’s post I am sharing 7 new home must haves!
As some of you may know we moved to North Carolina and bought our first home!! Let me tell you, after living in Los Angeles all my life (except the last 3 years because we were in Italy), the southern homes are huge! I love all the backyard space!
So being that we have a new home and our household goods still haven’t arrived from Italy (we’re going on one month since we shipped it all out 😅), we have needed to buy new things. Most of the things listed below are things we needed to buy again anyway, so the list may apply to you even if you’re not moving into a new home. Maybe you need a new dish set or new pots. Check out the list below for 7 New Home must-Haves!!
1. New Pots
I love Green Pan brand and this was the second set we’ve purchased throughout the years. It feels amazing to have a brand new set and we are being extra careful about cooking at a medium temperature to not burn food onto the pan and cleaning them properly.
What you will love:
- Ceramic material. It is better for your health compared to regular aluminum pans which eventually chip and can leach onto your food.
- Free of PFOA’S and PFA’S chemicals that you don’t want in your food.
- Clean and elegant look, but you can also get colorful and choose one of their colored sets.
- Super easy to clean. This is probably my favorite thing lately! A gentle scrub with warm water and soap and they are wiped clean, I like to dry with these microfiber towels and they are back in the cabinet as good as new!
2. Dishes
We found this brand at TJ Maxx, and it has great Amazon reviews. We love the clean cut look and quality of this set so far! It also makes our cabinet look organized and pleasing to the eye 😊. I always try to stick to white ceramic dishware because we avoid plastic and also, white dishes just look better in my opinion.
We purchased the cereal bowls, fruit bowls, and dinner plates because they were all sold separately. However, moving forward I will likely continue to purchase from this brand on Amazon. Click on the photos below to head to the listings on Amazon.
3. Mop
This O Cedar mop is probably the most popular one that I’ve come across and it is definitely an upgrade for me! I had been using a regular mop which required me to go back and forth to the sink to rewash and clean. I love that I can move the bucket around with me and I can easily wring the mop onto the bucket with the push step.
Also, the microfiber material on the mop is awesome. Cleaning with microfiber is a game changer.
4. Microfiber Towels
Of course I need to mention microfiber towels because cleaning and drying with them is awesome! I like to use these towels for all cleaning purposes except for doggy accidents and toilet cleaning, you also save money by not spending so much on paper towels.
5. Ring Doorbell
Just like the Alexa, having a Ring is a must in your home. Luckily our home came with the ring already installed.
The Ring is great to stay updated for when your packages arrive. It's also great for security purposes, with its motion detection and video recording you will feel safe. It stores videos, has crisp night vision, and you receive mobile notifications when someone presses the doorbell.
6. Shower Water Filter
Adding this shower filter to all your showers is a good idea for healthier skin, hair, and air. The coconut carbon filter helps reduce chemicals like chlorine and lead. It only needs to be replaced every 6 months, but it is worth the price and the filter replacement is only $60. I like to purchase the handheld removable shower head which makes it easier to wash my daughter's hair.
7. Bath Towels and Mats
These Casaluna towels, which you can find at Target, are amazingly soft and so big that they can wrap around you easily and dry very well! Another plus is that they are organic. A new home really comes together with some cozy high quality bath towels. The kids will especially appreciate them for their comfort and size!
We also purchased this Casaluna bath mat and it feels amazing on our feet and drys great as well, the large size is a huge plus.
There we have it. 7 New Home Must Haves! Obviously there are a lot more things we can add to the list, these are the ones I thought were most important right off the bat.
